Exclusively G&K-Vijuk’s…
G&K-Vijuk patented outsert systems are for the production of RTA (right-turn-angle) cross-folded outserts. Outserts, which have become the standard for providing information in the pharmaceutical industry, are leaflets that are folded to a small size and secured to form closed leaflets which will not spring open during packaging operations or while affixed directly onto product containers.

The MV-11 Single Knife System folds outserts with up to 110 panels as small as 1 1/ 8" x 1 1/ 8".
Outserts on average are 15% thinner than those folded on previous models, giving you savings on storage and shipping.
Thinner outserts are easier to handle—manually and mechanically.
Larger, thinner outserts will fit in existing packaging.

Tailored to fit your needs...
Designed to handle light-weight stock for pharmaceutical and miniature leaflet folding, Station I options are:
• G&K-Vijuk (GUK) FA 53 Folder (20 3/4"/ 53 cm) with 12, 14, or 16 plates.
• G&K-Vijuk (GUK) FA 43 Folder (17"/ 43 cm) with 12 plates. (The maximum number of panels a single knife-unit system will fold is 110. See Specifications to equip the system for upgrading in the future.)
Station II may be a 4-plate G&K-Vijuk (GUK) Folder, modified with special folding rollers, plates, and pressure roller to handle the thick, small-size leaflets.
The R6 Round-Pile Feeder is standard.

This system is ideal for a company starting to produce outserts.
The MV-11 Single Knife Outsert System can be upgraded to an MV-11 Double Knife Outsert System or an MV-11 Triple Knife Outsert System with the addition of knife units and pressing units.

R6 Round-Pile Feeder...

The continuous-load feeder handles sheets up to 40" in length. Long and difficult-to-feed sheets are transferred by the top-suction wheel (1) (shielded by a safety cover) aided by air blasts from the front and from ADJUSTABLE FLOATING BLOWERS (2) on each side of the pile.
3 ELECTRONIC DOUBLE-SHEET DETECTOR

FL2 Feeder

Suction heads lift the sheets at the REAR SEPARATING FEED SYSTEM (1). Air blasts aid the feeding of long or difficult-to-handle sheets.

2 A DRUM SUCTION INFEED WHEEL, shielded by a safety cover, transfers the paper toward the folding rollers.
The rear separating feed system lifts up and out of the way for easy loading.

“Intelligent” self-teaching jam detection…

The ELECTRONIC JAM DETECTING SENSOR (1), one of many on the outsert system, is part of “intelligent,” self-teaching jam detection. Sensors throughout the system record the timing of sheet passage. If product does not arrive at a sensor point in the proper time, the operation preceding that point will shut down to prevent further jamming and minimize downtime.

FA 53 Folder touch-screen controllers…

1 The hhs® CONTROLLER controls water scoring and glue application.
2 The L-4 CONTROL UNIT is used for setting up production speed, total, batch, and production counts, the double-sheet ejection system, and recording the sheet and fold lengths for the various monitoring devices.
Programmed jobs can be stored for recall.

Quick setup on the FA 53...

1 Quick caliper-set rollers.
Zero-makeready plates.
2 Folding length is set by digital dials.

FA 53 Folder double-sheet ejection system…

Production is not interrupted when double sheets are fed. The DOUBLE-SHEET DETECTOR (1) activates the air-opening cylinders (2) that open the gate (3) through which double sheets are ejected before they reach the folder. The system is not stopped.

Water scoring…

Accurate, tight folds are accomplished with the combination of water scoring (1) and rotary scoring.

All specifications are based on using 27# paper on outsert systems with the R6 Round-Pile Feeder. Measurements in parentheses are in millimeters. Based on the primary folder. The G&K FA 43 has 12 plates. The G&K FA 53 may have 12, 14, or 16 plates. (The manufacturer is known as GUK in Europe.) RTA outserts with more than 90 panels must be produced using a 10- or a 14-panel configuration in the right-turn-angle section, depending on the model. ** Production speed depends on the finished folded size and number of panels.
